Sambu is a dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven Kenya national educationalist who has been involved in the education sector for 26 years, teaching both GCE – IGCSE Cambridge and the Kenyan 8-4-4 Curriculums as well as performing leadership roles. He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Strathmore University and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Nairobi. He is currently the Head of Senior School after serving as the Deputy Principal for the period 2011- 2012. He is committed to professional ethics and standards of practice. His main focus at Austin’s is to enable students from a rich multi-cultural community (over 30 nationalities), and of all abilities, to receive the most challenging educational opportunities and achieve their full academic and personal potential. Further, as a team player, he is dedicated to creating an enabling and well balanced learning environment where learners can enjoy life and enhance lifelong learning. Sambu has a wealth of experience in leadership which he acquired after successfully serving as HOD, Examinations Officer, Director of Academics, Deputy Principal and Principal in the period May 1989 – July 2011. He has excellent analytical skills, quite innovative and a critical thinker cum problem solver. He enjoys working with students and staff in all school activities and loves listening to music as a hobby.

A long standing education specialist in Curriculum development and Implementation in Geography, Mathematics, Global Perspectives and English. Has over 22 years of Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of Local and International Curriculum. He is a part-time Researcher, Lecturer and Author of reference materials currently in use by the 8.4.4 system in Kenya. He is a trained Referee in Football and Volleyball. Stephen is an effective communicator, and has very good problem solving and analytical skills at all levels within the organisation. Besides, he is a population scientist, trained and tested from the University of Nairobi.

He is the Curriculum Coordinator in-charge of Lower secondary school classes implementing the Cambridge International Curriculum both in teaching and evaluation of the curriculum process. Having a four-year experience in the position, Stephen is known for his meticulous organisation of parents’ forums and discourse. He oversees curriculum implementation and evaluation, students’ welfare and articulates school policies to the publics for years seven through to nine. He is an accomplished leader and teacher in St. Austin’s Academy. He initiated the implementation of Checkpoint examinations in the school. He is a member of the school’s Senior Leadership Team and a trainer of teachers in best teaching and learning practices relevant to the 21st century students.

Mr Andati B.Ed. Science, M.Sc. Chemistry (University of Nairobi), brings to St. Austin’s a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for the teaching of Advanced level, IGCSE and Checkpoint Chemistry. With over eight years of cumulative teaching experience, all at International curriculum, Mr. Andati has learnt to build capacity and empower students to love and understand Chemistry as a subject and a course to project their own career interest. In so doing, his teaching and learning is geared towards learner centeredness, involving learner activities like individualized practical, student presentations, research and project groups, as well as use of ICT as a tool of modern learning. All this is done considering each learner at an individual level, factoring in their learning styles, personalities and abilities. Besides just teaching Chemistry in class, Mr. Andati has developed great leadership, organization, management and coordination skills through experience in various appointments like Head of Department, Class Manager, House Manager, Logistics Coordinator, Time tabling, and Student leader coordinator. In addition, his interest in sports like soccer and athletics is always of great motivation to students. As a lead expert in Chemistry, Mr Andati has positioned himself a researcher and consultant mostly in Analytical and Nano chemistry, making various presentations and research at University and Industrial levels. Mr. Andati’s teaching philosophy is to provide a high quality education and to empathize, love and respect to students as he believes that each one has something special that can be built upon.
