UPPER SECONDARY CURRICULUM
The Upper Secondary curriculum at St. Austin’s Academy offers breadth and balance to provide challenges and opportunities for students, preparing them for the finest national and international universities. The Academy offers programmes leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Advanced Subsidiary (AS-Level) and Advanced Level (A-Level) qualifications offered by Cambridge International Examinations.
As in the lower secondary school there is a strong co-curricular and PSHE programme. Students are encouraged to take part in the President’s Award Scheme and the East African Model United Nations.
Numeracy
Through enquiry and investigating, we strive to promote positive attitude towards Mathematics through fun activities.
History & Geography
We investigate, describe and explain the pattern of human activity in the world today and interpret the interaction between people and their culture.
Art
Art education involves 2 or 3 dimensional work as well as exploring art through Information Technology.
Literacy
Literacy combines important skills of reading and writing. It also involves speaking and listening skills.
Information Communication Technology
Our pupils work independently with computers from the beginning of their time with the Early Years Unit.
French
French is a useful language for Communication. French is taught from Year 1 and onwards. The emphasis is on speaking and listening but as they progress,

Kiswahili
As one of Kenya’s national languages, Kiswahili is a gateway to the cultures of Kenya and Eastern Africa.
Music & Drama
